This hotel is excellent value. Right on the edge of the French Quarter, historic building, cool courtyard w/ pool, exposed brick in the room, many windows, big four-poster bed.
Bathroom needed renovation. Breakfast needed more than just starch- e.g. fresh fruit and yogurt. N. Rampart is sketchy in sections, but as soon as you cross the street into the French Quarter, you're in a much nicer neighborhood. It's also a bit far from the convention center, though it's an easy walk to Bourbon.
The friendliness of most of the staff members that I interacted with. The provision of a breakfast service.
The layout of the hotel was beautiful, the pool was literally 5 steps outside the door, it was beautiful to look out onto. Every room had a little table outside the door, sitting outside on warm nights was amazing. The hotel was walking distance from everything we wanted to see (Bourbon street 2 blocks, Jackson Square 3 blocks). The staff was nice, free breakfast was convient, the hotel beautiful. I'd stay here again for sure.
Not like it was a deal breaker, the rooms (which I had) on the bottom floor were brick. So you had to wear flip flops constantly or your feet were black. The rooms upstairs (a friend was up) were wooden floor, a lot nicer option I think.
our room was right by the road and street side window, it was loud all night long and especially during morning rush hour and I heard people talking outside the window late into the night. Breakfast was ok, but some fruit or something other than bread would have been a nice addition. I know for being so close to the French Quarter it was a "bargain" price, but it was not worth it after not getting any sleep or a good breakfast.
The hotel is at the back of the french quarter which makes it easy to access all of the main atractions.
Queen sized rooms are very small, air conditioning very noisy and staff not particularly friendly.
not much other than it was convenient to Vieux Carre
the rooms are facing a courtyard and guests were coming in at all hours making a lot of noise, the room was small and poorly furnished and the TV was antiquated.
Good location, nice and spacy rooms with free Wi-Fi, walking distance to French Quarter and the Riverside. Nicely restored building with lots of atmosphere and interesting details. Swimmingpool in the courtyard with good temperature in the water (March/April) - Helpful and friendly staff
Good, friendly service, nice breakfast room, nice hotelrooms.
After a certain hour, water in the shower was cold and in the first room I found hairs in the bed (on the plus side: they switched me to a different room immediately and were very apologetic about it)
You can walk to the French Quarter. Old wooden floors and some pieces of furniture are nice.
The hotel stuff is not polite. My room and my bathroom had no windows at all. So if you need some fresh air, you have to open the room door that overlooks the yard and the pool, thus allowing everybody to give a look into your room!
Conviniently located on the French Quarter, but not too closed to the party, nice and quite for a good night of sleep, 2 pool, nice breakfast, Would stay again!!!
staff wasn't very helpful, room was not noteworthy
The location and how convenient it was to Bourbon Street and the French Quarters.
-Although the room was a suite, the setup.......there was nothing "sweet" about it. The room is not insulated at all so we literally spent the weekend hearing every last word and sound our neighbors made. When they walked across the floor above us it sound as if they were coming through our ceiling. Even the smallest movement above was over exaggerated and amplified. It literally gave me a headache. While the room was cozy it wasn't conveniently arranged. It only had 1 television which was placed in the sitting area, which was separated from the bedroom by a brick wall. So you couldn't lay in bed and watch tv (which I needed to do since I'd been given a headache by my neighbors walking around upstairs!!!). I don't feel the price was comparable for what we got.......at all!!! Maybe if the price was cheaper I could have endured it better. But spending over $500 and leaving with a migraine was not what I envisioned!!
Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful architecture and atmosphere, cosy rooms, good location just a few block from the French Quarter and nice pool, open until 11 pm which is quite rare and such a good idea!
No minibar, and no kettler plus coffee bags in the rooms. No small cafe' by the pool.
The staff were friendly and the location great...easy to walk to Bourbon street.
I cannot believe that they charge $25 a night for a motorcylce parked in a grass area behind the hote. It is fenced so felt my bike was okay. But $25!! That is why I wouldnt recommend the hotel.. In other reviews people praised the breakfast....sorry, but did not rate it that high.....just average
This is a classic New Orleans hotel, you know that you are in the quarter. We enjoyed our stay, the staff was so helpful, we will stay there the next time we are in the area.
